HI, I’M MARCO!
I've always been fascinated by the way our brain drives every action, decision, and emotion during our lives and by the variety of different studies which try to unravel the mysteries of such a complex organ, from psychology to neurosciences. On the other hand, the answers we look for are hidden in data, therefore I've decided to follow a Data Science academic path, which could give me the tools to extract information from any kind of dataset. "In a world of locked rooms, the man with the key is king."
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Systems Neuroscience at Technische Universität Dresden. My research focuses on analyzing resting-state functional connectivity, derived from fMRI, to investigate the relationship between brain networks and alcohol dependence. By leveraging machine learning models, I aim to identify the most relevant connectivity patterns, ultimately improving our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying alcoholism.
